Meet the Team: Steve Smith, International Sales Director

Steve Smith, Director of International Sales, is a self-styled relationship builder with an emphasis on meeting needs and adding value to the experience of Vacuworx customers throughout Europe, Latin America, South Asia and the Middle East.

Smith, who joined Vacuworx in 2011, travels extensively fielding calls throughout the territory while working cross culturally to educate, train and instill confidence in both current and future customers. He specializes in building brand loyalty through dedicated service and the adaptation of material-handling applications and vacuum-lifting solutions to meet specific needs.

With a sales and operations background that includes more than 20 years of international sales, business consulting and leadership experiences, Smith excels at identifying industry trends, developing local partnerships and uncovering growth potential in target markets.

Smith is a member of the Oklahoma District Export Council, advising the United States Department of Commerce on issues affecting Oklahoma exporters, as well as the Tulsa Global Alliance. He also stays current by reading books and case studies involving sales and business strategies, and gives back by encouraging the aspirations of new entrepreneurs in the startup community.

Married for 12 years, Smith and wife, Nadezda, have a seven-year-old daughter and nine-year-old cat. They enjoy spending time walking, riding bikes and visiting regional attractions together as a family. For Smith, any downtime is typically consumed by his adoration for English soccer, NHL hockey and University of Oklahoma football.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Oral Roberts University.
